I agree with vergeofbliss. Who’s Next is probably my favorite album. Quadrophenia is great too. What’s interesting about listening to The Who is they went through a transition over their career, like most bands do. Their early stuff is different than the latter. The Who Sell Out, a is a good example of that. It’s a fun album. It has the song I Can See For Miles. Personally I don’t think anything after Who Are You (post Keith Moon) is worth it with the exception of a few songs. TOMMY is a a little over played but still a good album and its how I got introduced to The Who. I am a little of a purist when it comes to albums. Most of these have been reissued and contain bonus tracks. When listening keep that in mind. With all that being said, if The Who isn’t for you, that’s okay. It’s not your thing. But give it another shot. Sit back, listen and wear headphones.
Here’s the thing. I’ve just never been able to get into The Who. There’s nothing I dislike about them at all, but there’s just nothing that I absolutely love about them either.
I have one Who album and that’s because it belonged to my mom back in the day. I don’t know. I’ve listened to it before and it didn’t grab me all that much but I DON’T KNOW. I really do feel like I should like them and I can’t understand why they don’t do anything for me. :(
Try listening to Quadrophenia. If you don’t like that album then you probably aren’t a fan of The Who. Those two albums are my personal favorites are represent The Who at their peak in my opinion.
